I'm debating whether to keep this. I spied it online and instantly fell in love with the look of it. In person, eh, it's tremendously flawed.
Back in the day Anthro would lovingly wrap their items for shipment, even include tissue. This bag reached me in a shipping box half the length of the purse, stuffed inside a ripped plastic bag. Careless packing resulted in creases, wrinkles, bumps, and folds so deep that I'm not sure the piece can recover. But upon closer inspection, some of the problem lies in the design and manufacturing itself. The seams are sewn crooked, the crochet work already fraying/tied sloppily, and the material which gives the bag its structure is far too thick to be sewn onto the fragile muslin-like fabric of the bag. (The sides and zippered top of the bag appear to be a plasticized burlap; online, only one of the provided images shows the angle where you can catch a glimpse of what gives the bag structure.)
The stark contrast between the durable sides/zippered top vs the fragility of the rest of the bag is troubling. If I can ever get it to relax, it might look ok but ultimately it reads cheap. It would succeed far better had they just let it be floppy--kinda like grandma's carpet bag or a knitting pouch. As of now, the side seams are so bumpy and the knitted whip stitch bottom so furled I can't really justify keeping it. Bummer!
Additionally, I don't have the energy to worry about all the black yarn coming undone, especially after paying full retail. I'd recommend waiting for it to go on sale and even then, just pray that the warehouse doesn't mangle it further. Guess I'll contact CS....as a bargain basement-quality item packed so carelessly isn't a "perk" I signed up for.

I bought this from an Anthropologie store and it is true to the picture. It is made of two pieces of embroidered cloth that are stuck to the outside of a structured gold bag. The inner shell makes it a little heavy, but not too bad. Judging from a previous review, I would buy it from the store. It didn't have any wrinkles or creases and is absolutely adorable. Only 4 stars on quality because of a few loose strings. It fits over your shoulder or you could hold it on your arm. I am 5'2" and when I hold the handle with my arm straight down, it is an inch from the ground. It's pretty roomy. It fit a 1" binder and a spiral notebook easily. I love it and I've already gotten tons of compliments on it.

This bag caught my eye from the beginning. Love the design and the quality is good. Some other reviews posted about the poor shipping and handling. My bag came packaged appropriately and I didn't have any issues with folds or creases. The bag's interior is a little firm giving it shape. The bag is not floppy. None of the embroidery or stitching is falling apart either. All in all, I definitely recommend if you want/need a cute bag that makes a statement.
