    Perfection…and, yes, size down.
This dress fit me like a glove. I'm not alone, either - check out the rave reviews posted by women of all ages, shapes and sizes! I am 5'4", 125 pounds, 34D, very short-waisted and athletic but curvy. I am normally a size 6, but finally settled on the size 4 regular after trying the 6P. It hits about 2-3 inches below my knees, which is both flattering and a pleasant alternative to my other dresses, which are either mini or full-length. The smaller size just feels better and I think the closer fit helps the lace detail pop a bit more. The nude colored slip/lining also alleviated any modesty issues I had with respect to the "peekaboo" detailing throughout the bodice. It might look like you're showing a lot of skin, but it certainly doesn't feel like it once you're wearing it. It's classy and it's sexy, which is usually more than you can ask of a dress at this price point. Bonus: my flesh-colored bra is virtually undetectable, which is key given my cup size and the fact that I have 2 young kids.

    beautiful feminine LBD
A classy feminine twist on the LBD , form fitting enough to be sexy. I'm 5' tall, 90 lbs , fairly straight built and ordered the 00 petite, fits perfectly. It's a straight fitting dress, so there's not much give in the hips. As in the picture, the lace bodice and boat neckline are beautiful and flattering. and looks great with a pair of chandelier earrings and high patent slings. This dress is extremely well-crafted for its price, sewn in the league of designer wear. If I had one small criticism: the front (and back) black panels are slightly stiff, so doesn't fold nicely with sitting and doesn't fall smoothly after standing up. I might just have to remain standing at all the events! Still, it's not a deal breaker and I would definitely recommend this dress for the price.

Loved it, but it had to go back
I loved this dress instantly online and was pleased with the quality and it fit well. I needed something for a specific function though, and even though the lace peekaboo is an illusion, it felt too risque for my need. Additionally, although it fit well, I felt like it made me look a little frumpy. The tiny hooks were also a little problematic for me - tended to open up.

    Timeless Piece, Lovely Silhouette
As some reviewers have mentioned, I can testify that the Pieced Brocade dress does in fact run large. I think a bit too large, but applicable to specific regions, such as the abdominal/thoracic, and especially the hips. In my experience with Byron Lars' dresses (Carissima, Lana, Fleur de Lys) they all have been spacious in the chest. For this particular dress (size 12, last size they had in store), the neckline is so breezy because it fits so loosely. I'm grateful for the incorporation of the front zipper (because the first 3 dresses had a plethora of buttons) which makes it more feasible to put the dress on. The Pieced Brocade felt snug around the waist and hips, but left plenty of room in the chest, as if Byron Lars intentionally tapered the dress to define a silhouette, which the dress did a wonderful job of doing. I think it's best to go with the petite size, unless you are blessed vertically. Despite all the minor cons, the design and quality of the dress overcomes the them, just as Byron Lars' reputation precedes any doubt over this dress.

    Conversation Topic
The work on this dress is out of this world. It was a conversation topic at dinner! One of the reason I always choose this cut is because I have a very short torso. The dress comes with a black dress. I choose to not wear it. I am in between two sizes 6-8. I have an “Athletic” shape. Tops I am an 8 and bottoms 6, so I bought both sizes, the 8 was loose and the 6 needed me to hold perfect posture. So be prepare to hold your head high! You’ll look prettier. The dress length of course fit me longer than the model – but nothing that a pair of nude high heel doesn't fix. The neckline will look just like in the picture... it didn't look flattering on me with the zipper all the way up. Which is just perfect paired up with tiny jewelry. What I didn't like (and you can’t see it very good in the picture) is that the above the shoulder there is a piece of fabric – same one from the back section – that in my opinion is too wide. The sleeves on me looked very puffy– I had to “shorten” those too. I am 5’5. 135, 34D, Short torso, Long legs, skinny shaped arms

    Can't recommend enough
This is one of the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen. It really doesn't need anymore reviews, but I have to say, it is a stunning work of art. I have fallen so in love with this piece and it looks amazing on. With the array of colors, I think the options for jewelry and shoes are also extensive. Most of the pictures do not show the black belt which is nice on but the dress looks wonderful either way. I would say the dress runs true to size with the caveat of the hips. I am unsure about the regular sizing, but in the petite size I was surprised at how the garment fit my hips. I am generally size 00, 0, 0P and I tried the 2P and the 0P and I tend to be narrow through the hips. While I still went with my expected size 0P, the hips were a tad snug, but it still had a much better fit overall than the 2P. The dress is cut a bit longer so if you are a petite I would suggest ordering a petite size as I think the regular would be a little too long (the petite still hits right below my kneecap. For reference, I am 5"2" and ~110lbs. Get this, and honestly, you can wait for a dress promo if you wish, but it's worth every penny, regardless

Bold color, bold design, TURNS HEADS!
I'm seeing an older man and as soon as I walked out in this he said, "STUNNING!'. When I say older man, I mean the type of sophisticated gentleman who is urbane and observes cocktail hour, a man who notices every detail, and if it passes his litmus test so effortlessly, my goodness, I may wear it everyday! I love the fabric, as always soft, just about wrinkle resisted, flows. The design on the fabric is played out perfectly to flatter any woman, and the for the busty woman, there's no need for a cami, they've got your cleavage covered, literally. The back is cut low, too, which is really nice (said older gentleman pointed that out, he said, 'it may just be me, and that I'm a swimmer, but the low back is a real turn on I think for men in general.') I can find nothing wrong with this dress, and well, everything right! In an effort to beg spring I wore this dress today, and I have OPI's Cajun Shrimp on my nails--HOLY COORDINATION (by accident)!

    In LOVE with this dress!
This dress is amazing! Yes, the price is high but it is WORTH it and you will feel like a million bucks wearing it. For reference, I'm 5'1", 118 lbs, average build, small (34A) chest. The XS Petite fits perfectly, with my flat sandals it just barely skims the floor. Coverage in the front doesn't gape, and so even when you bend over there is no sign of cleavage or bra (at least on me), the back as well doesn't come down so low that your bra is showing (though I think you could totally get away with not wearing a bra at all in this). The sleeves on me are true to the model; just barely a cap-sleeve over the shoulder. The fabric is amazing, not too light, not too heavy, and is just weighty enough to drape perfectly and move fluidly when you walk. The dress is lined from the empire waist to the knees with a navy blue slip (in the same fabric as the rest of the dress), in case that matters to anyone. The colors are bright and vibrant, and would look great on any skin tone. This will get a lot of wear from me, definitely worth the money!

Vibrant, Bright & Comfortable Summer Dress
I bought this for a wedding I am attending this summer. I wore it for some pictures, and I received many compliments to how beautiful it is! It fits and feels great. This will be in my closet for a long time to come! I am 6'1" and it is long enough for me!

    A masterpiece!
Why, oh WHY did this have to arrive just in time for Christmas? LOL I saw this astonishing dress just after my Carismma Sheath dress, in black, arrived. At first I thought this version was too close, but irl, it's in a class of it's own. You can barely tell from the photo, but the fabric on the bodice and skirt are different. The top has tiny circles with dots of red. The placket is also a different pattern, but instead of the hot mess I expected, the whole thing works to make you look like the most stunning creature in the room. Very, very flattering on most body types, but I'd dare say especially on the hourglass girl. This is the dress I would wear to dinner, to weddings, to business meetings with a jacket, to tea, to lunch with the girls, where wouldn't I wear this? Fit is tts, much like the Carismma sheath. I pray that it doesn't sell out before I can get my hands on one! Or, maybe, just maybe, it will show up under the tree!

    Gorgeous.
The dress is gorgeous and incredibly flattering. I've worn it several times and gotten many compliments - its a 3 season dress. Fits like a glove but very comfortable. Only bothersome thing is that found the die-cut sleeves catch on the lace/crochet that is under the arms and pills a bit. But since its a show-stopper of a dress, I overlook this. I'm 5'4" and 120 lbs - hourglass shape and bought the 2. I'm thin on top and small-waisted.

    Even better than I hoped!
I visited this dress many times on the website, hoping it would go on sale, but finally decided to bit the bullet and pay full price. Prior reviews listed its unique detail and surprises that made this dress a conversation piece (and why I love Anthropologie!) and it didn't disappoint! It is form fitting and sexy in a smart-girl way, but it also possesses an artistic/couture quality that renders it timeless. I am 5'6 and a 35" bust/128 lbs and went with the 4p, as I prefer the hem to hit me at or above the knee. The fabric has stretch, which allows it to fit to your body, not bulge and buckle as a stiff fabric would do. I also cut the belt loops and moved belt/ribbon down so it would hit my waist, as the petite waist was higher- no problem at all. I am SOOO happy I splurged and know this will be a 'go to' dress for years to come.

Stripes & Flowers for spring - FTW!
I saw this dress online & loved the colors/pattern. Went to my local anthro to check it out & despite that fact that I'm usually a 0P/00P in anthro dresses, I decided to try on the regular 0. So glad I did too! The length was perfect - the shortest sections hit just below my knee (I'm 5'0") and would be just right when seated. I imagine the petite to possibly be a little too revealing. It hugged my hips nicely & the top filled out well (I'm 30DD). I think the petite may have been too tight & prevented me from fully rotating my shoulders. The only issue I had with the top was since it's double layered (nice), the in-seam at the bust almost gives a pointy Madonna-esque look. I figured with some steaming I could flatten those out....also the cashier had just bought the same dress & said she steamed it for the same reason which helped, along with wearing a more push-up type bra. Beautiful dress - excited to wear it to a few spring weddings!

    Fits as advertised
I was concerned from all the reviews stating that it ran small, but I'm a true 8 and the 8 fit PERFECTLY. I have a small chest though so I'm not sure if the sizing issue had to do with that mostly, as it does fit me very well up top. I'm 5'9" and it was a great length with heels. I think I would actually pair it with a thin belt too to fully accentuate the small waist. The material is really nice, Lots of fabric on the bottom but not so much that you look large. It is definitely more of a pink/cream color in person than in the pictures online.

    Flirty | Casual
I love the design of this dress. I am 5'-4" tall with a 34D chest, I typically wear a size 4 in dresses but had to size up to a 6 because the sleeves were a tad bit too tight in my arms, I don't think this would be a common problem but if you have larger arms/ muscles I would think about sizing up. Overall this dress is quite flattering on women with larger chests. This dress is of nice quality, the fabric is light and will be nice in the summer heat.
