    Perfection…and, yes, size down.
This dress fit me like a glove. I'm not alone, either - check out the rave reviews posted by women of all ages, shapes and sizes! I am 5'4", 125 pounds, 34D, very short-waisted and athletic but curvy. I am normally a size 6, but finally settled on the size 4 regular after trying the 6P. It hits about 2-3 inches below my knees, which is both flattering and a pleasant alternative to my other dresses, which are either mini or full-length. The smaller size just feels better and I think the closer fit helps the lace detail pop a bit more. The nude colored slip/lining also alleviated any modesty issues I had with respect to the "peekaboo" detailing throughout the bodice. It might look like you're showing a lot of skin, but it certainly doesn't feel like it once you're wearing it. It's classy and it's sexy, which is usually more than you can ask of a dress at this price point. Bonus: my flesh-colored bra is virtually undetectable, which is key given my cup size and the fact that I have 2 young kids.

    Best Dress
In my hunt for the perfect reunion dress, I came across the most beautiful, sexy but sophisticated dress at a reasonable price for the quality. I had not seen these college classmates in 30 years and was going alone. This dress was so flattering I felt very confident on my own. Later, when pictures were shared, this dress earned me the unofficial "best dressed" title. i took the advice of other reviews and ordered down a size so that dress was very fitted . I had to walk very carefully in my pumps. I really needed a 4 but it was unavailable- lucky me it ran "big." Now my biggest problem- how can I top this dress next time?

    Exquisite.
I had high expectations prior to receiving this gorgeous dress & they were far exceeded. You can visually see the design on the website, but what you don't see is that in addition to the button closures, there's a substantive hook & eye between each button. & is double lined. I mean what craftsmanship! And so elegant! & distinctive! I'd recommend wearing this dress anytime except summer. Sizing: I'm 5/2, 112 lbs with a slim/ahtletic build, 32C. Since I saw some reviews noting it runs large, I got the OOP (normally I'd get the 0P). It fit like a glove & hugged me in all of the right places. The petite version was too high-waisted on me, so I'm exchanging for the regular 00. This happens to me a lot. So if you're a short gal like me, but find it's better to get a regular & have things hemmed, you might opt for the regular size. But the 00 was perfect; I'll just have to get it hemmed, but that's the story of my 5'2 life! Highly recommend!

Just Press the 'Submit Order' Button
Ok, so obviously it's hard not to notice the monthly car-payment-like price of this dress, however, that being said... It. Is. Worth. Every. Penny. At least when that repo-man comes, you will look GOOD. Seriously. I'm 30 years old, 5'6", 150 pounds and I purchased the size 8. Never before in my 30 years on this Earth have I owned an article of clothing that fit this well. It's absolutely perfect! The dress itself is clearly stunning. Perfect black dress. The buttons are darling and let you choose your level or riske. The skirt is the perfect sexy, modern length. I feel like I'm over-using the word 'perfect' here, but no other word in the English language would apply quite as well. If you're thinking about purchasing this dress, do it. Don't think about it any longer. It's inconceivable that you could possibly, in any way, regret that decision. Start babysitting. Own that lemonade stand. Whatever you do... Buy this dress. It's... Perfect.

    Small and vintage
I read that it ran small so I ordered a 00 but it was so small I couldn't even button it up, needed 2 sizes larger. I alternate between a petite and regular but I'm usually a 0P or XSP. Like I said, couldn't even get it close to fastening, I needed a 2? For reference I'm 5'3 and 112 lbs... I'm only 47 so I thought it definitely had a vintage feel but I felt too old in it. It was a little too straight-laced for what I wanted to wear to high school graduation. I would have like better if I was in my 60's...

    Conversation Topic
The work on this dress is out of this world. It was a conversation topic at dinner! One of the reason I always choose this cut is because I have a very short torso. The dress comes with a black dress. I choose to not wear it. I am in between two sizes 6-8. I have an “Athletic” shape. Tops I am an 8 and bottoms 6, so I bought both sizes, the 8 was loose and the 6 needed me to hold perfect posture. So be prepare to hold your head high! You’ll look prettier. The dress length of course fit me longer than the model – but nothing that a pair of nude high heel doesn't fix. The neckline will look just like in the picture... it didn't look flattering on me with the zipper all the way up. Which is just perfect paired up with tiny jewelry. What I didn't like (and you can’t see it very good in the picture) is that the above the shoulder there is a piece of fabric – same one from the back section – that in my opinion is too wide. The sleeves on me looked very puffy– I had to “shorten” those too. I am 5’5. 135, 34D, Short torso, Long legs, skinny shaped arms

    The most beautiful Dress
I am one of may who have posted a review on this Dress. BUY THIS DRESS, DON'T WAIT !!! Find an occasion to wear this dress. It is absolutely beautiful in every way. I am 5' 6" 135 lbs. 36 DD and I bought a 10. It's a little loose through the waist and I am waiting for an 8 to be sent and I will compare. If the 8 is too tight I will still keep the 10 and maybe have it taken in a tad. I cannot not have this dress. The length is perfect too for my age which is 66. I LOVE ANTHROPOLOGIE !!!! The cutest clothes ever.

    Better in person
I usually wear a 4, I bought this in a 6 and it fit like a glove. I think the photos do not do the dress justice, mainly because the model is too skinny and it does show the shape of the dress and the textures are incredible. It's an art piece. I wore it to three weddings this season, all very different venues in 3 different states.

    A masterpiece!
Why, oh WHY did this have to arrive just in time for Christmas? LOL I saw this astonishing dress just after my Carismma Sheath dress, in black, arrived. At first I thought this version was too close, but irl, it's in a class of it's own. You can barely tell from the photo, but the fabric on the bodice and skirt are different. The top has tiny circles with dots of red. The placket is also a different pattern, but instead of the hot mess I expected, the whole thing works to make you look like the most stunning creature in the room. Very, very flattering on most body types, but I'd dare say especially on the hourglass girl. This is the dress I would wear to dinner, to weddings, to business meetings with a jacket, to tea, to lunch with the girls, where wouldn't I wear this? Fit is tts, much like the Carismma sheath. I pray that it doesn't sell out before I can get my hands on one! Or, maybe, just maybe, it will show up under the tree!

    Simply Gorgeous
I have admired this dress forever and when I received a birthday discount code I decided to give it a try. I am not disappointed. The dress is beautiful...a classic! It is also seasonless as I will be wearing it to a spring event with nude pumps. It is well-made and the pictures do not show the intricate details in the design and materials of the dress.

    Even better than I hoped!
I visited this dress many times on the website, hoping it would go on sale, but finally decided to bit the bullet and pay full price. Prior reviews listed its unique detail and surprises that made this dress a conversation piece (and why I love Anthropologie!) and it didn't disappoint! It is form fitting and sexy in a smart-girl way, but it also possesses an artistic/couture quality that renders it timeless. I am 5'6 and a 35" bust/128 lbs and went with the 4p, as I prefer the hem to hit me at or above the knee. The fabric has stretch, which allows it to fit to your body, not bulge and buckle as a stiff fabric would do. I also cut the belt loops and moved belt/ribbon down so it would hit my waist, as the petite waist was higher- no problem at all. I am SOOO happy I splurged and know this will be a 'go to' dress for years to come.

    Maeve does it again!
Another great maxi by Maeve! This is a very well made dress. I am not typically a high/lo hemline fan but it is moderate and looks good. I love the faux wrap. You get the look of a wrap without having to worry about anything being exposed, because the flap around the front is completely sewn in. This dress ran long like the Verda maxi so I ordered a petite small and it's just the right length(I'm 5'6" 135 lbs). The cross over top is well fitted, I was nervous because sometimes these type of tops gape but it has great cpverage and is secure. It looked like it would be tight around the torso when I pulled it out of the package but there is plenty of stretch and the empire height waistline is flattering. Fabric is soft and comfy. My only complaint is that I wish the pattern on the ruched waist was centered with neckline. I'm sure they are all different but as someone who sews, it's something my eye is drawn to. If you have the luxury of buying in store maybe you can find one with a good pattern match. Overall very happy with this dress!

    Soft & well constructed
I ordered this by mail during a special. Potential cons: In person, I feel like the reds compete with the greens. At first I wasn't sure about the busy pattern, but I tend to go for solid colors, so it's more of a personal comfort thing. Pattern pacement does matter (otherwise you may end up with strangely placed "targets"). I wouldn't say it's the most slimming dress I've ever owned when you look at it from the side or back... Pros: ....but it does flatter the figure from the front with the wrap front, bust construction, and waist. I wear a light cardigan over it to feel comfortable wearing it around at work and about. The colors themselves are very pretty. The fabric is very soft. At least one reviewer mentioned not liking the faux wrap. I don't mind it. I like wrap dresses, but they can be too dangerous if you live anywhere with wind. FYI: I'm a hair under 5' 5". Based on the length of the dress on the model and her height, I correctly surmised I should get a petite. I took my regular size in the petite. Length worked out well.

Had to have it the second I saw it
When I received the anthro email with the April catalog preview and came across this dress, I knew that I had to have it right that instant. I ordered the blue and absolutely love the look and feel of the dress. It is one of those dresses that you can just throw on and instantly feel good about yourself. If you are on the fence, I say go for it. I will live in this dress this summer and wear it every time I need a little confidence boost! The only negative that I will say about the dress is that it is very long even for a maxi dress. I am 5'7 and I need to wear 3 inch heels so that the back of the dress doesn't drag on the ground, otherwise this dress is perfection.

    Love this dress!
I was searching for a dress to wear to a wedding. I saw this dress on the rack and didn't think it would look good on me because of the thick material and pattern so I didn't bother trying it on. While I was trying on other dresses in the dressing room, I explained to the salesperson that none of the dresses I tried on were working out. She pulled some dresses and this dress was one of them. I was skeptical at first, but once I had it on I loved it. The cut is flattering and the thick material is a little more forgiving if you're trying to hide a few extra pounds. Additionally, the design of the dress helps cinch everything in. The hidden pockets are an added bonus. The design at the waist adds a whimsical touch. I do agree with other reviewers regarding the zipper. The zipper doesn't go far enough down if you're trying to step into the dress and have any hips. Other than the zipper issue, the dress is perfect. I'm so glad the salesperson pulled it for me because I would have never chosen it for myself. Dress was true to size. I'm 5'1 and 125 lbs with a small bust.

Love this Dress - Well Made!
I picked up this dress in size 8 and it fits so nice, well made compared to other Anthro dresses I have observed over the past year or so. The fabric is nice medium weight cotton blend twill and holds its shape, a plus it is lined and true to size based on other Anthro dresses of the past that were a size 8 - for my frame. I do find the front is a little low and the crack of my chest shows, so for me, for work, I will need to wear a think navy blue cami. Another plus is the pockets and they are positioned in the right place for me. The attached belt panel is a nice varied shades of pink, purple and orange stripes which would be a nice compliment to a colored shoe in those shades. I normally don't buy full prices Anthro clothes for the next season before the season starts, but with the dress promo and the fact this dress is well made and compared to other priced dresses elsewhere this was a win win purchase. I am 34DD chest, 140 pounds and 5'4 inches in height and the 8 fit perfectly. the length on me was about the length on the model but not so shortI would feel uncomfortable for work wear.

    Beautiful dress!
I''d been keeping my eye out for something to wear to a wedding this summer. and was immediately drawn to this beautiful striped dress! I had been eying for a while until the previous dress promotion in February, and was so glad I finally decided to try it on then! I'm in love with the invisible pockets and perfectly matched seems on the dress, the fact that it's lined and the fabric has a good weight to it. However, like other reviewers mentioned this dress seems to run quite small. I'm 5'4", usually wear a size medium/8/10 and rather busty and needed a petite 12 (I was able to fit into a small Maeve wrap dress), so this definitely runs small. Also, like others mentioned, I also had a hard time with the short zipper, and due to its poor quality it's actually easier for me to put this dress on over my head than trying to zip it. It also bunches/creates humps in the back but I was able to look past that.
